Bear Lake

Bear Lake is located in western Manistee County, within the northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

This lake is 1,744 acres in size. It is 24.00 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Black Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, Walleye and Yellow Perch. The outlet, Little Bear Creek, which exits from the eastern shore, is a designated trout stream and a tributary to Bear Creek. Being one of northwestern Michigan’s better cool water fishing lakes. Bear Lake is a popular recreational lake, both summer and winter. One of the more desirable lakes, Bear Lake is a larger, active, recreational lake. With spring fed clarity enhanced waters and a sand bottom it has drawn 300 households to its shoreline, making Bear Lake’s residence known for their outgoing and friendly personalities.
