Traverse City

A City seated at the foot of two fresh water bays, Traverse City is a destination for so many reasons. A 20 mile long strip of rolling hills dividing East and West Grand Traverse Bays is Old Mission Peninsula, the home to several wineries and breweries, producing wines and IPA’s that compete on a national scale. The downtown restaurants are a favorite with locals and tourists alike. With a culture that could only be described as friendly and a little “off-beat,” the residents of Grand Traverse County have fought to restore the last standing Kirkbrige building in Michigan, (Converting it from its asylum past into shops, condos, art galleries, and a pour room) partnered with Michael Moore to bring the week long TC Film Festival (where along with viewings of independent films in town during the day, the residents can view movies at night in the “Open Space,” an open green space on West Bay’s water’s edge, free of charge), and made Traverse City the Cherry Capital that it is today.
